- Occupational Therapy
- Occupational therapy focuses on improving an individual's ability
to participate and engage in all of the things that occupy his daily
life. An occupational therapist will evaluate every area of an
individual's ability to function including motor, social, emotional,
sensory, cognitive and environmental influences to determine what a
person needs to improve his level of independence and the quality of
his life. Occupational therapy is part of a treatment for
overcoming an illness, injury & developmental or psychological
impairment. Occupational therapists goals are to help people
regain, develop and build skills for independent function, health,
well-being, security and happiness.
- Speech Language Pathology
- Speech language pathology focuses on improving a person's ability
to communicate in all settings. It involves evaluation of
receptive and expressive language skills, the ability to take turns in
conversations, the social aspects of conversation and the ability to
make and form words.
- Autism treatment/Behavior Therapy
- Autism treatment and behavior therapy requires consistency and the
ability to treat each person as an individual. A client-centered
approach is the most effective method for developing rapport and
improving the rate of success when working with individuals who
process information differently. Specific plans of action should be
formed with the input of the individual or the caregivers when working
with individuals who require extra assistance in developing behavior
control.
